Led by the 617 Squadron of the Royal Air Force (RAF) Bomber Command, this historic operation aimed to cripple Nazi Germany's industrial heartland by breaching key dams in the Ruhr Valley.

Despite the valiant efforts of the airmen, the operation came at a heavy cost. The RAF lost 53 brave servicemen, and a further three were captured and taken as prisoners of war. The raid, which remains a symbol of courage and ingenuity, is remembered as one of the most significant and daring military operations of the Second World War.
